<p>The COST conference is for members of the Transforming Audiences, Transforming Societies COST project only.</p>
<p>Transforming Audiences, Transforming Societies coordinates research efforts into the key transformations of European audiences within a changing media and communication environment, identifying their complex interrelationships with the social, cultural and political areas of European societies.</p>

What role can academics play in current policy debates?  Philip Schlesinger is director of the Centre for Cultural Policy Research at the University of Glasgow and member of the Scientific Advisory Board of CMCS at LUISS.</span></span></p>
